Bread for the World Sunday

OCTOBER 17TH – Bread for the World Sunday!

We will celebrate Bread for the World Sunday on October 17th at Christ the King Lutheran Church. CtK has been a long-time partner and supporter of this Christian advocacy organization.  Bread for the World (www.bread.org) has been working to fight hunger and poverty here in the U.S. and all over the world; progress has been made in policy, partnering with local governments, non-profits and churches to get at the root of some of these issues. However, COVID-19 has had significant impact on the ability of people to put food on the table, while trying to deal with their employment, housing and all the issues impacted by COVID.

Your voice matters and needs to be heard now, and always. Go to the Bread website and see how you can personally get involved, support financially, or pray for solutions to these critical issues for our brothers and sisters across the world. In particular, there is a focus on concentrating on the first 1000 days of a child’s development and care. You can read more about that on the website.

Thanks for your prayers and support.

Christmas is Coming!

The Social Ministry Team invites you all to participate in the “alternate giving” program through the ELCA Good Gifts, online catalog. You can choose from more than 50 gifts that will not only help people around this world, during this Covid pandemic, but honor your family and friends, in giving a lasting gift that will make a difference in the lives of God’s children whom we never met.  Go to goodgifts@elca.org and help share God’s love.

But there is MORE!!!!!!

Don’t forget to put Colorado Gives Day on your calendar!  This will be held on Tuesday, 12/7/21.  If a nonprofit organization receives 10% of the total money raised on that day, that same nonprofit receives 10% of the $1 Million Incentive Fund that is powered by Community First Foundation and presented by 1st Bank.  You can donate at www.coloradogives.org/cogivesday web site.

Let’s spread the love!
