Day Camp

Monday July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2021
8:30am – 12:30pm
For kids entering K – 6th grade in the fall of 2021

What We Did Today

Thursday, 7/15: We had fun playing in water and planned our movie debuts! We also learned about baptism and forgiveness.

Wednesday, 7/14: We “gathered around our community table”, did some creative beading, and rejoiced in a very cool day – both weather and otherwise!

Tuesday, 7/13: We learned about “Telling Our Stories”; that we all have important stories to tell and God uses us all to change the world. In Arts & Crafts we made “tie dye” shoelaces, and we started decorating the sanctuary with paper snowflakes for Christmas in July.

Monday, 7/12: We learned about “The Power of Music and the Power of Prayer.” We sang and danced and decided that there’s no wrong way to pray. You can talk to God any way you want; God is always listening! In Arts & Crafts we made tambourines, and we drew pictures for Christmas in July.

What We’ll Do Tomorrow

Friday, 7/16: We will be recording our end of camp movie today. Campers are welcome to bring whatever props/costumes they feel they “need”… we have plenty of stuff here for them too. Once the movie is recorded, Pastor Tim will edit and post on a private link to Vimeo. Look for an email from Mandy with the link!

Thursday, 7/15: We will get a bit wet today as we will be running through sprinklers, so please wear something (on your body and feet) that you don’t mind getting damp. We’re going to learn what it’s like to be “Showered in Forgiveness”.

Tuesday, 7/13: Our focus will be stories; our stories and the stories in the Bible. We will make colorful shoelaces too – be aware that the kids will be using fabric markers that could stain their clothing if they accidentally “go rogue” – they will be supervised, for sure, but accidents happen! If you’d like your child to change clothes before Arts & Crafts, please send those along and let Mandy know at drop-off.

What is Day Camp?

Day Camp with Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp is BACK! We are so excited to have RTLC Counselors “come down the mountain” to once again share faith-building activities with the young people of our community.

Things are a little bit different than in years’ past, of course, but the changes were necessary to keep our little ones and our counselors and volunteers safe. BUT – we’ll still have Sondance, Bible Study, Arts & Crafts, Games, Fellowship, and FUN!

Registration and Cost

  • $15/camper. Scholarships are available.
  • Snacks are provided.
  • Masks are required.
  • Camp will be outside as much as possible – wear sunscreen!
  • You must fill out both RTLC Registration and CtK Payment Forms completely and absolutely no later than July 4, 2021 (see buttons below)
  • Please fill out both forms separately for each Camper attending
  • Rainbow Trail will be contacting you for daily health checks beginning July 5 and through the end of Camp on July 16.
  • The Day Camp Skits and Video, usually seen at the end-of-camp program and dinner, will be posted on CtK’s Vimeo Channel for at-home viewing.

Junior Counselors

We love our Jr Counselors and we couldn’t have Day Camp without them! If you are a Youth entering 7th grade or up in the fall you can volunteer to help out. The experience is spiritually rewarding and your volunteer hours count toward community service.

Time Commitment:

Sunday, July 11, 5pm-7pm. Meet the RTLC Counselors, have dinner, and set up for Camp. This is mandatory.

Monday – Friday, July 12 – 16, 8:15am – 1:00pm. Day Camp! It’s hard work sometimes, but oh-so-fun.

Optional: Monday – Friday, July 12-16, 1:00pm – 3:00pm. Because Camp has to be a bit different this year, we have time to spend in fellowship and faith formation with the awesome Counselors from Rainbow Trail. Bring your lunch and join us for hilarity.

  • You must fill out both Forms below completely and absolutely no later than July 4, 2021 (see buttons below)
  • Rainbow Trail will be contacting you for daily health checks beginning July 5 and through the end of Camp on July 16.

Help Support Day Camp

We rely on the generosity of our CtK family to make Day Camp a safe, fun, and faith-filled experience for our Campers and Counselors.

Due to safety precautions surrounding Covid-19, we are limiting RTLC Counselor contact with our congregation. We’ll still need to provide them with breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday-Thursday, July 12-15, and breakfast and lunch on Friday, July 16. For breakfast and lunch, we need money for groceries so they can cook at the church, and for dinner, a gift card to go out to a restaurant or get take-out. This is for 4 college-aged counselors. They can eat. A lot. Click on the FEED ME button below to donate to Counselor Food Costs.

We are, as always, also in need of donations of Snacks for the Campers and Arts & Crafts Supplies. Click on the “Snacks N Supplies” button below to see what’s on our Wal-Mart Registry. Items can be shipped to CtK or you can bring them to the church; either way we need them no later than Sunday, July 11.

If you are a Thrivent Member, you can donate one or both of your free-to-you Action Team cards to Day Camp! Click the link below and fill out the form with the info on this page. Email Deacon Mandy if you need assistance.
