CtK Piecemakers
The Piecemakers would like to say THANK YOU for your generous support during our sale in October! With the proceeds from the sale, we’ll be able to continue supplying quilts to be used for baptisms, the sick and elderly, as well as for various mission projects for those in need here at home and abroad. We could not do what we do without your support!
We’ve had two of our Piecemakers relocate out of state recently. Please consider joining us! For more information, call Judy Danielson by calling her at the Durango Quilt Company at 247-2582.  The quilters meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm in the CtK Community Hall. Come check us out!

CtK Book Club

The CtK Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm in the CtK Library. Our regularly scheduled meetings will start up again on Thursday, January 19th, 2019. The upcoming reading list will be made available shortly, so stay tuned. And remember, you are invited to drop in at any time and join us for some lively and enriching literary discussions—new members are always warmly welcomed! Please call Stella Welcher for more information.

Thanks for Your Holiday Helping Hands

Thanks for Your Holiday Helping Hands

The Social Ministry Committee would like to thank all the special people who give of themselves during the busy Holiday Season.  We had 29 people ringing the bell for Salvation Army in the cold and sunless depths of the north door of Walmart.  You collected an average of more than $200 a day which will stay in the community and provide emergency assistance to people who live here.  We also want to thank all of you who helped out with the Angel Tree by buying gifts, donating to the cause, helping deliver, or helping organize.

Thanks also to all of you who contributed quilts and medical supplies for the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission.  Special thanks to Judy Roy and Pastor Art who delivered a SUV load to NELM.

Sixth Annual Festival of Light Coming January 9th!

Sixth Annual Festival of Light Coming January 9th!

The Sixth Annual Festival of Light comes to Christ the King Lutheran Church on Wednesday, January 9that 6:00pm. A simple soup supper will be available starting at 5:00pm in the Community Hall. Please invite your friends and family to join you for this beautiful, inspiring worship service to celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord. This service highlights all of our musicians at CtK, including Joyful Noise, our Chancel Choir, and other special arrangements. It also theatrically demonstrates the growing light that has come into our world in the person of Jesus. If you’ve never attended a Festival of Light worship service before, don’t miss out on this one!

This year’s theme is “The Gifts We Bring.” After swimming in the cultural Christmas milieu for months where the focus is on finding the perfect thing for that special someone, it seems appropriate to think about the gifts that we already are, and how we use our lives as gifts of gratitude for all God has done for us. We hope that you will leave the worship service this year energized and empowered to go into the world and spread the good news of Jesus’ birth using whatever gifts you have been given.

I hope to see you there!

Pastor Tim
