God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone. That's
why God has brought us together as a congregation and why we have
Stephen Ministry.
Stephen
Ministers are members of our congregation who have received 50 hours of
training to minister to people experiencing crises, facing a challenge
or simply going through a tough time.
A Stephen Minister meets
with his or her "care receiver" (always men with men and women with
women) - privately and confidentially - on a weekly basis to listen,
care, encourage, support and remind you of Christ's presence in your
life.
Stephen Ministries, based in St. Louis, MO, was founded by
a Lutheran pastor to assist trained clergy with the large need of
providing one-on-one care to congregational members. We have trained
Stephen Leaders who manage this minstry, provide training, match the
Stephen Ministers so that they provide the best care possible, provide
continuing education and ongoing communications to the congregation.
