Sunday School (and a whole lot more) for children in preschool through fifth grade.
We meet every Sunday at 9:15am in the Worship Area. From 9:15am-9:45am, all ages sing together to the glory of God. We learn proper singing technique (breathe with your diaphragm!) and work to memorize traditional and contemporary hymns and songs. We also learn how these songs “fit” with the lectionary. We sing about once a month at the beginning of the 10:30am worship service, and we present two pageants each year.
From 9:45am-10:15am, the children divide into individual classrooms by age. Pre-K & K are in the Ark Room (nursery) with Mr. House; 1st & 2nd graders are in W-6 with Miss Annie; 3rd-5th graders are in W-7 with Mrs. Duft. We use the Augsburg Fortress Spark™ Activate Faith™ Curriculum. Each child is given a Spark Bible of their own (story bible for PreK-2nd grade students). Readings follow the lectionary, and children complete various activities and/or crafts to increase their understanding of the material.
